Poetry Markup Examples

Below are three examples of a poetry markup, one poor, one mediocre, and one strong. If you are not sure what a poem “means” you can still mark it up by pointing out what you are noticing, or what questions you have – I would rather see you struggle with a poem (and even interpret it incorrectly) than leave the poems blank
